Genetics is one of the basic science courses that comprise the Biology curriculum of the four years of Science College. This course discusses the principles of genetics with application to the study of biological function at the level of molecules, cells, and multi-cellular organisms, including humans. The topics include: history of genetics, model organisms, Mendelian genetics, extensions of Mendelian genetics, cytoplasmic inheritance, sex determination system, inheritance related to sex, chromosome aberrations, gene therapy and genetics of cancer.
